giving of yourself

madelyn this year had to give the gift of herself for school.  she choose to go to our local animal shelter to volunteer for 2hrs. so both the girls and myself bought them lots of supplies that they needed and headed out. it was quite heart breaking to be there, but we did our job socializing with all the dogs and cats.  the huge dog above was golden retriever-shepherd mix and was the goofiest thing ever. his feet were to big for his body and was just a klutz. the little dog was 1 of 3 that were found abandoned in a home. he just couldn’t get close enough to you and cried the whole time because he was so happy.  he reminded me of a friends old dog leroy. after lots a begging for another dog or cat we finished up our job and promised to return. anyone can go volunteer at the green co animal shelter. they are always looking for people to help socialize all the animals so that they will be more easily adopted. merry christmas to all.

getting ready

the rock star is getting ready for christmas.  although she ate another 60.00 a couple of weeks ago there will be very little for her under the tree this year.  she did leave all of the ones and only ate the big bills. jim said she was saving them to go to the bars to tuck.  hope everyone has a great holiday

both the girls have been into rolling their hair at night after showers. I can remember doing this as a young girl.  my mom would put in the pink foam rollers and it would be the worst night sleep trying to get comfortable.  we tried 2 different kinds this time, the foam ones and these white cloth like ones.  the white ones are more comfortable to sleep in and but fell out more easily. the foam ones that chloe wore all stayed in and curled the best.   unfortunately this is adding an extra hour to night time routine. now I need to go get more foam ones. I am sure my mom  still have mine under the sink in the bathroom.

both the girls walked in the homecoming parade this year.  madelyn for volleyball and chloe for cheerleading. our neighbors the popes were in it for cross country.  loved the picture of andy and eddie.  they both have the same smile. i just look at this picture and smile.

today i took the family out on one of our first photo shoots. everything went pretty well. it was very hard to get a good family shot with the dog and all. i suggest taking someone with you. we were terrified if we let her off her leash she would jump into the creek.

in the 7th grade the kids go on a 3 day team building camping trip to camp joy. unfortunately  for madelyn her 3 days was the worst weather we had in months.  she said the first day she was totally soaked to the bone. we had packed 2 pairs of sneakers and her wellies. she said she never took the wellies off.  her team, in spite of the weather had a fabulous time. when i picked her up she did not stop talking for about an hour and half and once she did she was sound asleep. i think she is still trying to catch up on her beauty rest.

back to school 2010

WOW! were did the summer go.  for a summer of nothing really planned, it flew by.  the girls were more than ready to go back. they wanted to get school supplies the end of july.  for some reason they have an obsession with office supplies. it is hard to believe that chloe is in 3rd grade and madelyn is in 7th.  while  i enjoy the ages they are the homework is getting harder, not only for them but also for jim.  madelyn especially knows not to ask me a question about math.  i think i had a tutor up to my junior year in high school.

madelyn made the volleyball team this year at the middle school. in 7th grade you can finally try out for sports and she MADE IT! way to go madelyn.

chloe decided to do cheerleading this year instead of soccer. she has truly enjoyed herself. the smile on her face every weekend have been priceless.

jim really wanted this neon crop top too cut the grass in.  he thought it was hilarious and that the neighbors wood enjoy. thank god all of his searching every beach shop turned up nothing. count yourselves lucky.

 

two of my favorite pictures.  we had a great time this summer. we had never actually stayed on the beach till this year. i am not a huge sand person. cant stand the mess. but we did have a great time. the girls loved just being able to walk out the door and having the beach right there.

nature on the go camp

chloe and morgan did the nature on the go camp this summer.  they came home daily covered in mud and loved every minute of it.

home office remodel

i cant believe we have lived here for 9 years and we just got around to doing the office.  it was the first thing you would see when you walked in  and it was the worst room in the house. we were able to repurpose the bookshelves by painting them and setting them on top of the counter as built ins.  jim let me continue the hardwood floors into there and all the cabinets and counter top are just stock from home depot. what a difference having two work stations has made.  i am hoping homework will be a breeze this year.  we are totally in love with the space.  the remodel has created so much more room.

a visit from callie

callie and her three kids came for a visit this year.  chloe and addison always hit it off great.

madelyn turns twelve

seems like lately the kids birthdays roll around faster and faster and they growing more and more each day.  it is hard to believe that madelyn is now 12.  and from what i can get 12 years olds like to light there own birthday candles.

july 4th

had a great time this year on the 4th.  it was the perfect day to celebrate with good friends.

today was the best day ever to do the ohio caverns.  when it is 100% humidity and 90 degrees out, there is nothing better than spending the day down in a cool cave.
